This harrowing war movie is based on the first battle of World War II. It's an epic dramatization of the war. For many years, the Battle of Westerplatte will be known as the one that marked the start of the Second World War in Europe. Some 200 Polish soldiers took on heavy German fire for one week, and in the process they took on a new meaning: resistance is powerful. When there is a lot of fighting, two Polish commanders are fighting over how to best lead their men. What do they have to decide in the midst of the bloodshed? Do they fight until the last man is left or give up in the face of overwhelming odds? What follows is a moving look at how people fight back against tyranny.
