At War for Love

World War II is raging in Europe at the time of this writing in 1943. Arturo and Flora, the daughter of a restaurant owner, are in love in New York, but Flora has been pledged in marriage to the son of a Mafia boss, and their relationship is jeopardized. However, in order to be able to marry Flora, Arturo must first obtain permission from her father, who resides in a village in Sicily, which is a long and difficult process. In the absence of financial resources, Arturo must enlist in the U.S. Army, which is currently preparing for a landing on the island of Sicily, in order to get to his destination.
