Doctor Who's origins are examined in this one-off one-of-a-kind drama from 1963. Actor William Hartnell felt confined by a string of tough-guy characters he had to play. Verity Lambert, a budding television producer, was fed up with the industry's lack of opportunities. It was a Saturday tea-time drama that would bring both of them unexpected optimism and new obstacles. When they joined forces with a group of eccentric but talented individuals, they went on to create the most successful science fiction series in history.
