A Touch of Spice

This narrative is about Fanis, an impressionable young Greek kid growing up in Istanbul, who learns from his grandfather, a culinary philosopher and mentor, that salt is necessary to enhance the flavor of both food and life. They both require... a dash of hot pepper sauce. Eventually, Fanis develops into an accomplished chef who uses his culinary abilities to enhance the lives of individuals in his immediate environment. Then he decides to go back to his birthplace of Istanbul in order to reunite with his grandfather and his first love, 35 years after leaving Athens. He returns home only to discover that he had forgotten to add a little bit of spice to his own life.
