A Silent Voice

Shouya Ishida begins tormenting Shouko Nishimiya, the new girl in class, since she is deaf. However, as the mocking continues, the rest of the class begins to turn on Shouya for his lack of sympathy. Shouko and Shouya do not talk to one other again after they leave elementary school... until an older, wiser Shouya, haunted by his past behavior, decides he must see Shouko again.
