Gwan-sun Yu was imprisoned by the Japanese colonial government during the March 1 Movement for Korea's freedom. YU remains unfazed as she rallies her fellow prisoners to fight back against the Japanese occupation of their prison. There is resistance to YU Gwan-imprisonment, sun's and the Japanese security chief knows it, so he lures an inmate to find out who is behind it and tortures the victim. Later, Gwan-sun appears to follow the Japanese while covertly preparing for a new demonstration against Japanese rule. After YU's insurgency has extended to the streets, he is once again subjected to torturous treatment. She dies two days before she is to be released, but her spirit has never been more free. She is now at peace.
