A League of Their Own

During World War II, as the number of athletic young men in America drops, a professional all-female baseball league starts up in the Midwest. It is funded by a candy maker who wants to get more attention, Walter Harvey (Garry Marshall). On their way to fame, competitive sisters Dottie Hinson (Geena Davis) and Kit Keller (Lori Petty) fight with each other, scout Ernie Capadino (Jon Lovitz), and grumpy old coach Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks). Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell play two of the sisters' teammates on the basketball team.
