Hillary Burns, 30, has spent her life trying to gain the approval of her parents, particularly her judgmental mother, Meredith Burns, with little success. Part of Hillary's approval is to marry the right man. That's why Hillary is overjoyed that she is engaged to successful lawyer Jason King, whom she will bring home to meet the family for the first time in a week during their Thanksgiving get-together weekend.
