Even though Goofy has the best intentions, his endearing cluelessness and clumsy pratfalls routinely make his awkward adolescent son, Max, feel embarrassed. Max eventually gets his longtime crush, Roxanne, to notice him thanks to a fun joke he played on the principal of his high school. He then asks her out on a date. Goofy is persuaded by Max's problems at school that he and the boy need to forge a bond over a cross-country fishing trip similar to the one he took with his dad when he was Max's age. This causes Goofy's son to rethink his plans to impress Roxanne, which causes Goofy's son to rethink his plans to impress Roxanne.
