9th Company
The film begins in late 1988 in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, with military trainees Petrovsky, Ryaba, Chugun, Stas, Pinochet, Lyutev, and Vorobyev being beaten into shape at a training camp by the violent, sadistic commander, Warrant Officer Dygalo, before being transferred to the front lines. The trainees went out to fight, first to the Bagram air base, then to the Afghani province of Khost to secure supply lines, after several one-on-one dalliances with Snow White, the local whore. Nothing, however, can prepare them for the utter devastation they are about to face, or for the never-ending stream of slaughter that would leave thousands of Soviet victims in its wake.
