2036: Nexus Dawn
Taking place in the year 2036, this in-universe short film is centered on Jared Leto's character, Niander Wallace. As part of his campaign to have the prohibition on replicants lifted, Wallace releases a new brand of "perfected" replicants known as the Nexus 9. This will, without a doubt, have significant repercussions for the plot of Blade Runner2049, which will be critical to its success.
