In 1839, some months after the revolt of the Patriots was suppressed by the British troops, hundreds of rebels are left to languish in prison. On the morning of February 14, Marie-Thomas Chevalier De Lorimier and Charles Hindelang find out that they, along with three other companions, will be executed by hanging within the next twenty-four hours. During the time that they have left before their execution, the condemned spend time with their loved ones and friends, speak with them about their final wishes, and hand over their wills to those individuals. At first light, the five Patriots muster the will to make their way with honor towards the scaffold, conscious of the fact that they are going to lose their lives for a cause that is righteous. www.tribute.ca
