Saki Hasemi, the author of Black Cat, and Kentaro Yabuki, the illustrator of To Love-Ru, have collaborated on a new manga series in Japan. There were 18 tankobon volumes in Japan, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shnen Jump from April 24, 2006 to August 31, 2009. In February2008, a drama CD featuring an original tale was released. Between April and September of2008, Xebec produced a 26-episode Japanese animation series based on the novel. Between April 2009 and April2010, Xebec produced six original episodes of video animation. It aired between October and December 2010 in the second season of Xebec's Motto To-Love Ru. In August2008, a Nintendo DS game was launched, and in October2008, a PlayStation Portable game was released. On October 4th, Shueisha's Jump Square magazine began serializing a continuation of the manga titled To Love-Ru Darkness. In October2012, Xebec began airing an anime TV series version of To-Love Ru Darkness. (English gairaigo "trouble") and "rabu" (English borrowed word "love") are the title and subtitle, respectively. Harems are the focus of the series, and the title is a play on words that describes the harem component.
