The Philanthropist
The first episode of The Philanthropist, an American action-drama show, aired on NBC on June 24, 2009. It was a limited summer series that was mostly shot in South Africa. It started out with a lot of viewers, but that changed over time. The Philanthropist was made by Carnival Films, The Levinson/Fontana Company, and Original Media. The show was run by Tom Fontana, Barry Levinson, Peter Horton, Charlie Corwin, Gareth Neame, and Teri Weinberg. NBC stopped making the show on October 21, 2009. Fans tried to keep the show on the air by using Facebook and a charity called "Save The Philanthropist through Charity." However, these efforts did not work.
