An animated television series based on Marvel Comics superhero The Incredible Hulk has been released. As part of an hour-long block alongside Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, the show aired on NBC in 1982 for 13 installments. After years of living in fear of a live action version of The Incredible Hulk from Universal in the 1970s, this new series was able to show the more fantastical aspects of comic books, including his true name and origin, and the return of the original characters, which the live-action series refused to depict. Stories from Marvel were faithfully adapted for this series. In addition, the Hispanic family of father Rio and his little daughter Rita were developed for the series.
