The African penguin is fighting for its life... Michaela Strachan is determined to assist them. Michaela, the newest member of the SANCCOB chick bolstering team, will be investigating why the penguin population has plummeted and what may be done to save it. These penguin babies are saved from starvation each year by the South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) in a dramatic rescue. Six weeks of nonstop action is required to save up to 500 vulnerable chicks, teach them survival skills and release them back into the wild.
