Based on the concept of six degrees of separation, Six Degrees is an American dramatic television series about six New York City people and their relationships and connections to one another. On September 21, 2006, it debuted on ABC following Grey's Anatomy. Creators of the show are Raven Metzner and Stuart Zicherman, respectively. Bad Robot Productions' J. J. Abrams, Bryan Burk, and Thom Sherman serve as executive producers for the series. Rodrigo Garca was the director of the pilot episode. Filming takes place at Manhattan and Queens, New York's Silvercup Studios, as well as other locations throughout the city. Jakob Dylan wrote and performed the show's theme song, "Here Comes Now." Prior to the American airings, the series was aired on Global in Canada on Wednesday nights. It was scheduled to show on ITV in the UK in early 2007 but was canceled by ABC, hence it never aired in the UK. On May 28, 2008, it eventually premiered on ITV with all thirteen episodes. The Seven Network in Australia first aired it in 2007 and continues to air it now. New Zealanders can catch it on TV2 at the moment. Dizimax showed it in Turkey in 2007 as well. AXN and RTP2 in Portugal aired it. RTP2 rebroadcast it.
