In this series, the LAPD believes it would be a good idea to create a task team composed of actors and homicide investigators. As much about Hollywood as it is an action-comedy procedural, the show within a show within a show is a very meta half-hour comedy. The sitcom stars Ryan Hansen and Samira Wiley as his straight-laced colleague Detective Jessica Mathers, as well as a who's who of actors portraying bizarro versions of themselves, such as Joel McHale, Donald Faison, Eric Christian Olsen, Jon Cryer, and Kristen Bell.
