Pride and Prejudice takes place in England at the beginning of the 19th century. It tells the story of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet's five unmarried daughters after the rich and eligible Mr. Bingley and his status-conscious friend, Mr. Darcy, move in next door. Bingley likes Jane, the oldest Bennet daughter, right away. Darcy, on the other hand, has trouble fitting in with the locals and often fights with Elizabeth, the second-oldest Bennet daughter.
