David Mitchell and Robert Webb star in the award-winning British sitcom Peep Show. The television program is penned by Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain, with contributions from Mitchell and Webb, among others. Since 2003, Channel 4 has aired the program. It is the longest-running comedy in the history of Channel 4 with its eighth season. Style-wise, the show employs point-of-view views with the main characters Mark and Jeremy's thoughts audible as voiceovers. Peep Show covers the lives of two men in their twenties and thirties: Mark Corrigan, who is working throughout the series, and Jeremy "Jez" Usbourne, an aspiring musician who is unemployed. The couple met at the fictitious Dartmouth University and now reside together in Croydon, South London. Mark begins his career as a loan manager at the fictitious JLB Credit before becoming a waiter and then a salesperson of toilet supplies. He is financially wealthy yet socially awkward and has a negative and cynical outlook. Jeremy currently resides in Mark's spare room after breaking up with his girlfriend Big Suze prior to the premiere. He generally has a more upbeat and energetic take on the world than Mark, but his self-proclaimed genius as a musician has yet to be recognized, and he is not as popular or gorgeous as he believes himself to be, while being more successful with the opposite sex than Mark.
