During the summer of 2001, UPN aired the reality television series titled "Manhunt." The show focuses on the search for missing persons. The contestants on the show claimed to be wanted criminals and tried to elude actors who were playing the role of bounty hunters. A monetary reward was going to be given to the person who could stay one step ahead of the bounty hunters for the greatest amount of time. During its limited run, the television show Manhunt was beset by numerous challenges. First, an agreement that was to have a number of the World Wrestling Federation's "superstars" appear on the show was not able to be finalized in time before it was canceled. Then, all came crashing down when it was discovered, in two different investigations carried out by conspiracy theorist Peter Lance and game-show fan Steve Beverly, that the show was being shot at Griffith Park, which is located near Los Angeles, California. It was previously stated that the movie Manhunt was shot on location in Hawaii. Following the completion of six episodes, the program was cancelled. John Cena and Raye "Zap" Hollitt, both of whom have competed in the past for the American Gladiators, were among the cast members.
