Superheroes owned by DC Comics appear in the animated series, which premiered on September 23, 2006, in the United States. Legion of Super-Heroes is the name given to a group of future superheroes that Superman fights alongside in the series. A co-producer of the Justice League Unlimited series, James Tucker, developed the show for The CW network's Kids' WB line. An enormous amount of inspiration for this series was drawn from the Legion of Super-Heroes' long and varied comic book history. This edition of the Legion follows its own internal logic, although it is distinct from any previous iteration, animated or otherwise. After its second season, the series was canceled.
