Kaboul Kitchen is a French comedy show on TV that Canal+ airs. Marc Victor, Allan Mauduit, and Jean-Patrick Benes came up with it. The show is based on the true story of Radio France Internationale reporter Marc Victor, who ran a restaurant for French expatriates in Kabul until 2008. The inaugural season debuted on Canal+ on February 15, 2012, and ended on March 5, 2012. It got the most viewers of any comedy show on Canal+ during prime time. A second series has been ordered, and it will have 12 episodes. The show is about the life of French expat Jacky, who lives in Kabul, Afghanistan, and runs the popular restaurant Kaboul Kitchen. Sophie, his daughter, who he hasn't seen in 20 years, comes to help people, but he only wants to make money. At the 2012 Festival International de Programmes Audiovisuels, the show won two Golden FIPA Awards: one for Best TV Series and one for Best TV Screenplay. It was shown at MIPTV and ranked fourth on The Hollywood Reporter's "MIPTV A-List Projects" list of the most promising series shown there.
