K-9 is a British/Australian comedy/adventure programme that focuses on the exploits of the robot dog K-9 from Doctor Who and combines computer animation with live-action. On Halloween 2009, the first episode of the series premiered as a sneak preview on the satellite channel Disney XD in the United Kingdom and Ireland. In October 2010, the whole series debuted on Network Ten in Australia, Disney XD in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Scandinavia, Poland, Italy, and the Netherlands, and Disney Channel CEE in Bulgaria, Romania, Moldavia, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. A second series is currently under development, and the first season is scheduled to be syndicated globally, with two confirmed networks, Channel 5 in the United Kingdom and Cartoon Network in New Zealand, and further networks to be announced. Channel 5 in the United Kingdom showed the first season from December 2010 to April 2011. The US cable network Syfy began airing the series on December 25, 2012, beginning with a marathon of the whole first season.
