A father and daughter play hide-and-seek in an apartment that appears typical. As he searches for his daughter, he cannot find her anywhere... Later, a video is published that depicts the girl holding a placard with a mystery sequence of digits. However, what do they actually mean? In a small industrial town, she is the first of multiple children to vanish without a trace. Young detectives Varta Naumova and Maksim Shumov take on a difficult case and... their own demons. Varta is a reclusive individual who is fiercely protective of her privacy, whereas Maksim appears to be an easygoing, social guy. Both parties have undergone trauma throughout their lives, and this case has a profound effect on them. As they confront their separate pasts, they have a personal interest in locating the children and apprehending the kidnapper.
