Hellfjord
The novel "Hellfjord" tells the story of Salmander, an urban police officer who is a second generation Pakistani immigrant. Salmander is transferred to the location in Norway that is the furthest north, Hellfjord, after he kills his police horse in front of thousands of children in an incident that was somewhat accidental. Hellfjord is the epitome of a typical backwoods village in Norway. Its residents are simple-minded and intensely interested in maintaining their privacy. But when Salmander digs a little deeper, he unearths a shocking revelation that is going to turn Hellfjord on its head. Perhaps even the other way around.
