Glitter
Glitter aired on ABC in 1984-1985. The Aaron Spelling-produced series was set behind the scenes of a prominent entertainment magazine called "Glitter" and aimed to merge journalism and business politics with the glossy lifestyles of the rich and famous depicted in the magazine. The leads were David Birney, Morgan Brittany, and Arthur Hill. The premise of the series was comparable to two other popular Aaron Spelling shows, The Love Boat and Hotel, in that it included high-profile guest appearances from celebrities like Ginger Rogers and Cyd Charisse. Glitter wasn't a ratings hit like previous shows. First three episodes aired in September1984, then three more in December 1984. Ratings didn't increase, therefore the show was canceled. The last eight episodes aired in December 1985 on ABC late-night. Despite its US failure, Glitter was sold internationally. Summer 1985 on BBC1 in the UK.
