Comic book cartoon character Dennis the Menace was turned into a popular television series by Hank Ketcham. CBS aired Dennis the Menace from 1959 through1963, sponsored by Kellogg's cereals and Best Foods, before The Ed Sullivan Show. The cast includes Jay North as Dennis Mitchell, Herbert Anderson as Henry Mitchell, Gloria Henry as Alice Mitchell, Joseph Kearns as George Wilson, Gale Gordon as John Wilson, and Sylvia Field as Martha Wilson, all of whom are played by North and Anderson and Henry Mitchell, respectively. Dariell Productions and Screen Gems collaborated on the production.
