Charles in Charge is an American sitcom starring Scott Baio as Charles, a 19-year-old student at the fictitious Copeland College in New Brunswick, New Jersey, who worked as a live-in babysitter for room and board. Scott Vincent Baio was credited for directing multiple episodes of the sitcom with his full name. It debuted on CBS on October3,1984, and ran until April3,1985, when it was canceled owing to low Nielsen ratings. It had a more successful run in first-run syndication from January3, 1987 to November10,1990, with a total of 126 original episodes airing. Al Burton Productions and Scholastic Productions, in partnership with Universal Television, created the program, which was released by NBCUniversal Television Distribution and New Line Cinema Corporation.
