Cape Town
Cape Town is the capital of South Africa. Mat Joubert, a police captain, used to be the greatest in the department, solving every case and apprehending every criminal. That was a year ago, before his wife Lara was assassinated while working undercover. Since then, Mat has been on a downward spiral, haunted by a hazy past and unsure of his role in his wife's murder. Mat is now an out-of-shape chain smoker with mixed feelings about the crime-ridden society. Mat gradually overcomes his past demons. He must, however, relive the nightmare of his wife's death in order to stop the violence in his present cases.
