Bionic Woman is an American science fiction TV show that aired in 2007. It was created by David Eick and made by NBC Universal Television Group, GEP Productions, and David Eick Productions. The series was a reimagining of the original TV show, The Bionic Woman, which was created by Kenneth Johnson and was based on the book Cyborg by Martin Caidin and the TV show The Six Million Dollar Man. It kept the basic idea of its predecessors but was set in the present day. Along with Laeta Kalogridis and Jason Smilovic, David Eick is also an executive producer for the show. A strike by the Writers Guild of America stopped the show from being made, so only eight episodes were shown. After not being on the Fall 2008 schedule, it was said that the show was cancelled because it didn't get enough viewers. The show was about a bartender named Jaime Sommers, who gets experimental medical implants that save her life. Jaime agrees to work for the Berkut Group, which did her surgery, while she gets used to her new bionic abilities and takes care of her younger sister, who is rebellious.
