As a boy, Shimura Teppei (Fujigaya Taisuke) aspired to be a marathon runner after observing his father, a policeman who rode side-by-side in marathons because he was a motorcycle officer. The father of Teppei, however, lost his job and vanished. Teppei wrecked himself by becoming a notorious local criminal. After graduating from high school, under the influence of his boyhood friend Yuichi, Teppei decided to become a police officer. He amazingly passed the examination and was accepted into the police school.
