Shed Productions, which eventually went on to make Footballers' Wives and Waterloo Road, created the series, which was televised in 17 countries. It's set in the fictional Larkhall women's jail and follows the inmates and employees of G Wing through a variety of serious and amusing themes. Since2010, CBS Drama has owned the UK broadcast rights, and the show has been regularly rerun— as of September2012, the station is re-running the series in a late-night time slot.
