Auf Wiedersehen Pet is a British comedy-drama about migrant construction workers. The first season takes place on a building site in Düsseldorf, Germany. In the second series, they work for a shady businessman at his English estate and Spanish villa pool. In the third series, set 15 years later, they work on the Middlesbrough transporter bridge in Arizona. In the fourth season, they work at a British embassy in Havana. Lead parts were played by Tim Healy, Kevin Whately, Jimmy Nail, Gary Holton, Christopher Fairbank, Pat Roach, and Timothy Spall. Franc Roddam made Auf Wiedersehen, Pet after Mick Connell's idea. It was written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, who also wrote The Likely Lads and Porridge. Stan Hey wrote episodes, too. First two series were co-produced by Clement and LaFrenais' Witzend Productions and Central Television and aired on ITV in 1983-1984 and 1986. BBC One aired two series and a Christmas special in 2002 and 2004. The show was the inaugural topic of BBC's Drama Connections.
