Asylum is a 1996 Paramount Comedy Channel comedy. Six episodes ran at a mental institution. Unlike standard sitcoms or comedy shows, it blended stand-up routines with a black-humor storyline. It features a big number of British comedians, many of whom have since worked on successful comedy shows. Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Jessica Stevenson's first collaboration before Spaced. Many characters shared names with their actors. David Devant & His Spirit Wife performed portions from their first album, Work, Lovelife, Miscellaneous, in every show. "Ginger" was the show's title song. Full episodes are available on Norman Lovett's website but not on DVD.
