Angry Boys
Chris Lilley wrote and starred in the Australian television mockumentary series Angry Boys. The series continues the mockumentary approach of his earlier series, which analyzes the difficulties faced by young boys in the 21st century — their influences, pressures, desires and ambitions. The show. There are several characters in Angry Boys that Lilley portrays: S.mouse (an American rapper), Jen (a manipulative Japanese mother), Blake Oakfield (an Olympic champion surfer), Ruth "Gran" Sims (a guard at a juvenile detention institution), and Daniel and Nathan Sims (two South Australian twins). With a pre-sale to BBC Three in the UK, the series is co-produced by Australian Broadcasting Corporation and HBO. Angry Boys, which was shot in Melbourne, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, premiered on ABC1 on May11,2011, at 9:00 p.m.
