1990
The series is set in a dystopian future in which the Home Office's Department of Public Control (PCD) is a tyrannically oppressive bureaucracy trampling on the civil liberties of the populace. Edward Woodward portrays Jim Kyle, a journalist at the only independent newspaper, The Star, who becomes a renegade and secretly fights the PCD. The PCD authorities attempt to provide evidence of Kyle's subversive activities.
