Will Penny
Will Penny, an elderly cowpoke, decides to take a job on a ranch that requires him to ride the perimeter of the land in search of trespassers or, even worse, squatters. He discovers that his cabin in the high mountains has been taken over by a woman and her son, whose guide to Oregon has abandoned them both in the middle of their journey. Because he feels too much shame to evict the mother and kid from the cabin just as the icy winter weather of the mountains begins to set in, he offers to share the space with them until the snow melts in the spring. But the snow isn't the only thing that gradually melts; eventually, the lonely man and woman forget their animosity toward one another and begin to build a profound love for one another as well.
