In the summer of 1945. Children who were released from Gross-Rosen camp are taken to an orphanage set up in an old palace surrounded by forest. Hanka, who was also a prisoner, takes care of them. Before long, the protagonists start to get back what is left of their childhood, but the horror comes back quickly. A group of Camp Alsatians go for a walk in the woods around the camp grounds. People from the SS let them out earlier, and now they're going wild and starving. They go to the palace to look for food. The kids are scared, and their camp survival instinct is on.
