Weightless
In rural Fulton County, Georgia, there is nothing except a few modest houses, a bar, a petrol station with a little store, and a waste dump. Introverted Joel works at the dump, where he occasionally comes upon a useful glass bottle or two, which he cleans up and brings home. Then, one day, he gets an unexpected phone call: his ex-wife has vanished, and it is now up to him to look after his son. Joel, who is ready to see his son for the first time, has no idea how he can establish a relationship with 10-year-old Will, who seems to exist in his own world. Clara, a brilliant young lady from the neighborhood, comes to their rescue, and Will begins to open up to his father. The youth welfare officer, on the other hand, has already knocked. Jaron Albertin's directorial debut is a thoughtful, slightly melancholy movie about two strangers who develop a deep understanding of one another.
