War and Peace, Part III: The Year 1812
In 1812, Napoleon's Army attacks Russia. Kutuzov asks Bolkonsky to join him as a personnel policeman, yet the royal prince demands a command in the field. Pierre sets out to enjoy the upcoming fight in between the armies. Throughout the Battle of Borodino, he volunteers to help in a weapons battery. Bolkonsky's unit waits in the book, but he is hit by a shell. Both Anatol and Bolkosnky experience serious wounds. The French Army overcomes as well as advances on Moscow.
