Regent Horthy is Hungary's leader and a German ally, but as the war draws to a close, Hitler's opinion of him shifts. The Nazis promptly deport Hungarians to ghettos and death camps, and Regent Horthy is forced to hand over leadership of his country or watch the killing of his son. When a young man named Elek appears, the mood changes. After being separated from his family during the relocations, Elek decides to become one of the enemy. When time is running out, he disguises himself as a Nazi officer to go on a mission to save his family and tens of thousands of other people from certain death.
