Ugetsu
Peasants Genjuro and Tobei sell their clay pots to a company of soldiers in a nearby hamlet during the 16th century in Japan. They do this in spite of the advice of a local sage who warned them not to seek to profit from combat. Both Genjuro's pursuit of wealth and the enigmatic Lady Wakasa, as well as Tobei's ambition to become a samurai, put themselves and their wives, Miyagi and Ohama, in danger of being destroyed. Tobei's goal is to become a samurai. Genjuro's goal is to become a samurai.
