Twelve Monkeys
In the year 2035, James Cole, a criminal, grudgingly agrees to go back in time in order to learn more about the origin of a fatal virus that wiped out virtually all of the population of the planet and drove the survivors to live in underground settlements. However, because Cole was accidentally sent back to the year 1990 rather than 1996, he is taken into custody and committed to a mental institution. There, he meets the psychiatrist Dr. Kathryn Railly, as well as a patient named Jeffrey Goines, who is the son of a well-known virus expert and who may hold the key to the mysterious rogue group known as the Army of the 12 Monkeys, which is believed to be responsible for releasing the deadly disease. Jeffrey Goines' father was a famous virus expert.
