Rose meets Tom Novak at Payden Farms— a handsome "flower broker" who acts as a link between the farm and local distributors— and learns that the farm is financially struggling and that her parents are considering selling it to a nasty competitor. Tom arranges for Frank to enter his most exceptional tulip in an upcoming flower event in the intention of earning national attention and creating business as a last-ditch effort. However, when Frank's flowers are inexplicably sabotaged, Rose must devise a plan to ensure they bloom in time for the competition. Along the process, she comes to appreciate her lowly origins, reconciles with Frank, and falls in love with Tom. With time running out, Rose must rediscover her green thumb in order to save her family's farm and decide whether to stay in Los Angeles or return to her folksy homeland to find true happiness— and true love.
