The Taste of Others
Agnès Jaoui co-writes and directs this Provence-set romantic comedy. Jean-Jacques Castella (co-scripter Jean-Pierre Bacri) grudgingly attends Racine's tragedy "Berenice" to watch his niece in a minor role. He is smitten by Clara Devaux, the play's strangely familiar leading lady (Anne Alvaro). During the show, Castella recalls hiring and firing the actress as an English language coach. He promptly enrolls in language courses. Clara dismisses him as an ill-tempered philistine with bad taste until Castella seduces her.
