The Star
The film is based on Emmanuil Kazakevich's eponymous novel. In the summer of 1944, the Nazi Armies construct a large Tank Division dubbed "Viking" for an invasion against captured Russian territory. The Russian Army's special troop of seven snipers, codenamed "Zvezda," is dispatched to conduct reconnaissance behind enemy lines in the rear of the Nazi Tank Division. Two prior Russian organizations disbanded. The seven Russians are fully aware that they are risking their lives for the cause of Victory.
