Helen, a lovely young mute, works as a domestic for Mrs. Warren, an old woman who is ill. The Warren mansion is also home to Mrs. Warren's two adult sons, Albert (a professor) and womanizing impudent Steven. When a string of murders involving 'women with infirmities' occurs in the area, Mrs. Warren becomes concerned for Helen's safety. She begs Dr. Parry to take Helen away for her own protection. Helen is clearly in jeopardy as another murder occurs inside the Warren estate.
