The Purple Plain
After losing his bride in a Luftwaffe air raid, bomber pilot Forrester turns into a lone killing machine who doesn't care if he dies. In World War II Burma, the rest of his squadron admires and fears the daring Canadian pilot. The squadron physician is tasked with determining the fitness of the disheartened Bill Forrester for duty. To break through the nightmare-haunted man's wall of silence, the physician takes Forrester to an outpost of English-speaking refugees, which includes an attractive young Burmese woman.
