The Palm Beach Story
Gerry and Tom Jeffers are having difficulties in their marriage. Tom is an inventor/architect, and they have limited funds. They are about to be evicted from their apartment when Gerry meets a wealthy businessman who is being shown around as a prospective tenant. He gives Gerry $700 to help her start over, but Tom does not believe her story and they argue. Gerry decides the marriage is over and heads to Palm Beach for a quick divorce, but Tom has other plans.
